Halloween parties are the hot new alternative to company holiday parties

Holiday events are here to stay – but who says they have to be during the winter holidays?  As employees and clients start to expect more meaningful, creative ways to celebrate; some of the more innovative companies are eschewing the traditional winter holiday party and hosting Halloween events instead.

WHY HALLOWEEN?

Halloween has soared in popularity in recent years. It has become so popular that it is now only 2nd to Christmas.1 Over 71% of American adults are expected to participate in Halloween.2 In fact, two in three adults feel Halloween is a holiday for them and not just kids.3 Therefore many companies are following this trend to keep their annual celebrations fresh and interesting.

5 REASONS WHY A HALLOWEEN EVENT COULD BE A BENEFICIAL ALTERNATIVE TO YOUR TRADITIONAL HOLIDAY PARTY

  1. Reduced costs

Prices increase during the December season as demand rises; therefore, booking venues, caterers, and entertainment during the Halloween season will allow you to enhance your event without raising your budget.

  1. Expanded venue options

Increased demand for event space during the holiday season makes scheduling an end-of-year company party difficult. Large venues and many popular smaller options are even booked more than a year in advance! Moving your annual party to late October will enable greater date flexibility and provide a wider range of venues to choose from.

  1. Engaged and inspired attendees

Halloween costumes enable attendees to showcase their creativity and personality. Instead of just attending a party, guests who opt to wear a costume get to become part of the event adding to the event’s décor.  Consider adding a costume contest to your event if your guests are the competitive type.

  1. Infinite theme options

Halloween offers unlimited theme options. Scary, funny, historic, inspiring – the possibilities are endless and can easily be customized to match your company’s culture. Instead of yet another winter wonderland, try transporting your guests to a haunted Voodoo bayou, zombie apocalypse or elegant Labyrinth-inspired masquerade.

  1. Increased attendance

People are overstressed and over-scheduled during the holidays. Instead of adding yet another item to their calendar in December – or worse – scheduling the party while they are out of town visiting with family – schedule your event in late October when more people will be able and willing to attend. Just don’t schedule it on Halloween itself or you will alienate guests who want to spend the evening trick-or-treating with their little ones.
